Round Lake Fire Station 3 officially opened in April 2002, and there are 3 personnel per shift assigned to this station. The crew here like the crews at the other stations operates as a jump company and consists of a Lieutenant and 2
fire fighters, so if there is an ambulance call all 3 personnel respond on the ambulance and the engine is out of service until they return from the call or in the case of a general alarm off duty firefighters come back to staff it, and the samething applies if the engine goes on a call. The staff at Station 3 is responsible for the northern and eastern side of the district, as well as portions of Grayslake due to an automatic aid agreement.
Station 3 quarters an ALS ambulance, 1 AED equipped engine, a rescue boat, The Quad 2 Foam Tender A.R.F.F., a staff vehicle and a Lake County SRT roll off truck. It features a
three story training tower, drafting pit, drive through apparatus bay, and crew quarters that includes a day room, workout room, bunk room, and kitchen. For more information about the apparatus, staff, and some photos of the station please click on the links at the left. |
