Update: As of May 1, 2008, our contract has expired, and we are now working without a contract.

On March 18, 2005, the members voted to accept the contract between the union and the fire district by a vote of 14 to 3 with 17 out of the 18 members present. On March 19, the district officially accepted the contract in a special meeting. The contract then went into effect on March 20, 2005. The union would like to thank A.F.F.I. Vice President-at-Large Rick Merrill and the members of our negotiating team: Local 4235 President Eric Hair and Secretary/Treasurer Joe Couture. Our members have been working without a contract for about 23 months. The highlights of the agreement include pay increases from 20.5% to 27.5% through the life of the contract, chain of command, hire back procedures and seniority list, and some significant changes in disciplinary actions. The agreement is effective through April 30, 2008.
